Are You Kidding Me?

Why do most of us sit and wait by the phone? Or in this day and age, obsessively wait for an email or text message?

I always tell myself that when I meet a guy I like and things are going well, that I’m not going to worry about when they call me. But I do. I always do. I carry my cell phone with me everywhere, and constantly open it to see if I have any missed calls that I possibly didn’t hear ring while I was changing the channel on my TV.

Why do we obsess like this? And when we DO receive the call, why is it that we call our friends and analyze everything that was said? ( You don’t do this? Okay maybe it’s just me).

When does the time come when we can be comfortable that the guy isn’t going to disappear into the night never to be heard from again? Maybe when the lust factor wears off and they just become the guy I am dating, rather than Mr. Perfect.

I want to vow to myself that I will never wait by the phone for another man to call ever again. If they don’t call me, fine. I’ll find some friends that want to go out. — Oh, who am I kidding, I am hopelessly obsessed and will always continue to wait by the phone. What else do I have??
