Old Numbers In Your Phone
Over at http://dating.today.com, there is a recent post about deleting old phone numbers in your phone. I totally agree that the past should be left in the past. People should move forward and not keep old numbers of exes in their phones.
However, I have old numbers in mine for one reason only. Not because I think they will magically call me one day and everything will be fine. I keep them in there so that I know who it is when they call me after we’ve broken up.
Whenever things end with someone, I try not to have them end badly, but when I’m done with the relationship, I really don’t want to have anything to do with them. I guess you could say that I try to be friends, but I don’t make any effort to ever see them again or wonder how they are doing. But they still manage to call or text me from time to time. That’s why I keep their numbers in my phone, until after a time when I’m sure they’ve gotten the hint and won’t call me anymore.
I don’t keep them in my phone for any other reason than that. But for some people, even that is no good if they suddenly get the urge to call them in the middle of the night, or when they’ve had a few too many drinks.
So yes, old numbers should be deleted, but there are some reasons why we keep them. What about you? Do you get rid of the phone number as fast as the relationship ends?
