Rant About Men: Who Said You Were My Girlfriend?
I hear more and more of my friends tell me about what a jerk the guy is that they are dating. There’s one thing that bothers me that these guys say. It all has to do with relationship status.
They will be dating a guy for awhile, and are pretty much exclusive and one night the girl makes a comment to the guy about being their girlfriend. And the guy will say ‘Who said you were my girlfriend?’ which leaves the girl speechless and wondering what the hell just happened.
If you spend time with someone, kiss them, have sex with them and don’t see anyone but them, then yes, you guys are boyfriend and girlfriend.
I actually had this happen to me a long time ago when I was younger. The guy I thought I was dating said those exact words to me one time. What did I do? I think I was speechless and didn’t say anything. But if that was ever said to me now, I really don’t know what I’d say (after I punched the guy out, of course).
But talking with my friends the other day, the same thing has happened to them. I know my friends aren’t these clingy girls that go around wanting to know where their man is at all times, so I genuinely think they thought they were in a relationship with these guys. This makes me wonder what is wrong with most of the male population. If you don’t want to be in a relationship with someone, then don’t spend every second with them, call them to see where they are, or get mad when they can’t go out with you. Oh, and don’t get mad when they mention going out with their guy friends.
If you do all of the above things, YOU ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP. Grow up and live with it.
