How Long Would You Wait?
So, my friend called me last night. He was at a bar near me, waiting for a girl he was going to meet from Match.com, so he was calling me to kill time.
Him and this girl were supposed to meet at 7pm, and when he called me it was about 6:50. So, we chatted while he got himself a seat near the bar, all the way at the back of the place, so he could get a good look at her while she walked up to him.
Around 7:10, he sent her a text and she replied that she was running about 15 minutes late. So, that would make her supposedly arriving at 7:15.
Well, while waiting, my friend is getting more and more irritated. He wasn’t in the best mood to begin with, but this girl being late didn’t help. Plus, he was sure this would be another meeting that went nowhere, so he wasn’t too positive about it.
I told him that if she didn’t show up soon, I’d go up there and meet him, since it was right by my house. So finally around 7:35, I told him to text her again or something. He did, and she replied that she was just pulling into the parking lot now. (I don’t know why she texted him if she was already there, but whatever).
So a few minutes later, she texts him again asking him if he’s nervous. (Umm, she’s in the parking lot apparently, so again, why is she texting him instead of just walking into the place?)
About a minute later,he says he sees her walking in, so he has to get off the phone. I tried to get him to give me his first impressions on her, but he couldn’t say anything without being obvious.
But my question is,…how long would you wait for someone to show up before you left?
My friend waited 35 minutes, and while they did have contact through text during that time, he still got angry and thought it was rude of her.
I’m not sure I would have waited that long….it would have to depend on what the reason they were late was.

It’s a bit long to wait for someone. You know us girls though….we have to spend a lot of time getting ready and looking nice. If that was me sitting there, I may have waited that long. The thing is though, if she was interested, you’d think that she would have made the effort to be there on time or would have even been early.
