Been a while….

Published by dianae under General Edit This

It’s been so long since I posted..partly because I was too busy and partly because of password problems with this site.

Anyways, quick update: Still going strong with my boyfriend…it’s been almost 8 months now. It still feels like we just met and can’t get enough of being together.

I’m having the best time of my life. I know it all sounds corny, but whatever. :-)

Not sure if I ever posted about this before, but he wants me to move in with him. I still want to wait, but all I can say is ‘Finally! A guy who doesn’t want to try and mooch off of me for once!’

As I’ve said before (and lied), I’ll try to update more when I can.

Overnight Getaway

Published by dianae under General Edit This

I’m so excited. In a few days I will be in Canada having a great time. It’s only for a night, but I’ll take what I can get. :)

It’s rare that the two of us have the same day off of work, so when that happens, we’ve been taking advantage of it. He has off this Friday, the day before July 4th, and I’m usually off on Fridays anyways from the store, so we talked about going on a mini-trip.

We usually talk about doing stuff, but never do it. We just end up sitting around wasting the day away. So when he suggested we go to Canada overnight, I told him that was cool, but that we should actually do it instead of talking about it.

So the next day when I was at work, he sent me a text saying that he booked us a room and dinner reservations and everything.

I can’t wait, I’m so excited. :D This will be our first ‘get-away’, even though it’s only overnight. But I’ve had horrible experiences with boyfriends and overnight trips, so we’ll see what happens. But since he’s the coolest guy on the planet, I’m sure there will be no problems. :)

Then I have to be back on July 4th at the store to see all my favorite drunken customers. :X

Where Have I Been??

Published by dianae under General Edit This

Okay, so it’s been a LONG time since I’ve been here, but hey, here I am.

An update? Sure, if you want. :D

Things have been going GREAT with this guy, who is now my boyfriend and has been for a few months now. I’ve met pretty much all of his family. I really like them and they like me, so that’s a good sign.

We haven’t gotten into any arguments or anything like that. Every day is still as awesome as when we first started dating. And we still see each other pretty much every day. It’s so nice to finally be dating someone normal and not a jerk.

Oh, I’ve also quit smoking. It’s been about two months now. I really don’t feel any different, but I’ve found that I’m bored all the time now. Before I would go smoke when I had nothing else to do, but now I can’t do that. I miss smoking, but I’d rather be in a relationship with this guy than smoke a cigarette. There’s still alcohol, though… :)

So yes, everything has been perfect and I’m guessing it will stay that way since he’s such an easygoing guy. I think I FINALLY may have found the one for me…..

I promise I will update more frequently. Even though I probably said that the last time, this time I mean it. :)

An Update

Published by dianae under General Edit This

Wow, it sure has been awhile.

Things are still going good with the current guy, he’s still really cool and hasn’t pissed me off like most men do. :D

Although, I’ve realized that most of my ‘longer’ relationships last every year from February to August. It happened last year and the year before that. And yes, you guessed it, I started seeing my current guy in February.

Hopefully this isn’t some kind of curse on me or anything. Somehow I think things will be okay with this one. :)

In other news, the Smooth Talker came in to the store the other day. I haven’t talked to him for a couple months. He came in wanting us to start seeing each other again. I asked him if he was even single, and he hesitated before he said yes. I just rolled my eyes and told him that I still had his number, and that I’d call him if I felt like it.

He ended up leaving the store and blew me a kiss from the parking lot.

Is he seriously that hard-up to find someone? Geez!

Work or Play?

Published by dianae under General Edit This

So, I’m feeling pretty crappy today for some reason, and just sitting here doing some work. Tonight I have a council meeting to go to, mostly I was going to do some networking for the book I’m writing. Kinda looking forward to it, but not really exciting.

So I get a call from my guy, asking me what time my meeting was. I tell him and he says that’s the worst possible time to have a meeting. I ask him why, and he says he just got two tickets to the CAVS game tonight and was wondering if I wanted to go.

Umm…let’s see…council meeting or CAVS game. Which would you choose?

Of course I chose the council meeting…I mean, I DO have work to do, right?

Ha! Just kidding. I love going to CAVS game and since I haven’t been to one in awhile and it’s the last game of the season, of course I’m going to jump at the chance.

So I guess that makes my mood a little better. Beer and basketball, what could be better? :)

Meeting Families

Published by dianae under General Edit This

So….I haven’t updated in awhile so I thought I’d fill you in…

Things have been going well with the current guy…surprisingly we are still getting along! It’s been about 6 weeks now and we still see each other about every other day.

Last night I introduced him to a few of my friends. He brought a friend of his along so he wouldn’t be the only guy, and we all had a good time. Of course, I ended up drinking too much and don’t remember much of the rest of the evening, but hey, I barely drink and when I do, I like to make it worth it. :)

I usually end up making an ass of myself on nights like those, but so far he’s still around, so I must not be too bad. :)

He’s even mentioned us meeting each other’s families, and next weekend I’m supposed to go with him to his uncle’s birthday party. I even got invited over for Easter tomorrow, but he said some of his family is crazy and he doesn’t want me to freak out and run once I meet them. I have plans to see my granny tomorrow, so I politely declined.

Anyways, have a happy Easter everyone and I’ll try and update more, I promise. :)

Target Visit From Hell

Published by dianae under General Edit This

So, I decided to go to Target to do some shopping for things to send to Angi for a box of goodies that she’s sending over to her friend in Iraq.

I figured that since it was 10am that it wouldn’t be too busy because really, most people should be at work on a Friday morning.

Yeah, I was totally wrong.

I should have turned back around and went home when I saw the parking lot filled, but I figured I’d need to get over my anger towards crowds and decided to park.

Not only did people race down the aisles to steal parking spots from me, other people were backing out and not looking while kids ran carelessly down the lot.

After 15 minutes I finally found a spot and went inside. It was the exact same as outside.

People were cutting me off with their carts, blocking aisles and many decided that once they saw me looking at something, they had to stand RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and look at the same thing.

I tried to quickly make my way through the store, but these women and their carts were everywhere. As soon as I grabbed my last item (which happened to be a big bag of kitty litter), I frantically searched for the checkout lines.

Once I spotted them, I maneuvered my way over, while continuously getting blocked by these strange cart people. It’s like they didn’t want me to leave the store. They wanted me to become one of them - zombie-like while pushing their carts robotically down each aisle.

I was tempted to throw my bag of cat litter at them just so I could get through, but then I saw an opening and took it.

Once I made it to the checkout counter, I was greeted by ‘Flo’, who didn’t look so friendly herself. I kind of felt like the girl in Michael Jackson’s Thriller video, where everywhere you turned there was another one of them monsters.

Flo wasn’t too friendly to me, and I wasn’t in the mood, and just when I was about to ask her if she was having a bad day or something, she completed ringing up my purchases and let me go.

Once again, I was out in the bright sun-filled parking lot. I think I actually ran to my car but of course, before I reached it, some truck had to cut me off to pull into the parking spot next to mine.

Screw Target. I think I’ll become one of those crazy cat ladies that gets everything delivered to her at home.

Entrecard

Published by dianae under General Edit This

I haven’t really used it much lately anyways, but Today.com is making us get rid of our Entrecard widget, so that means no more dropping on my site.

It doesn’t really affect me since I barely used it at all for the past few months, but I went and cancelled the pending ads that were on there. So if you requested to be placed on my site, sorry! I don’t think I’ll be deleted my Entrecard account, so I’ll still drop on the three blogs I drop on almost every day. (We Sleep For Dreaming, Things Men Say, and Philly Today).  See? I told you I didn’t drop much. :D

I know there are some Today.com bloggers that are upset about it, and I understand because Entrecard is where a lot of their traffic came from.

Oh well, all good things must come to an end, right? :D

Dating Games And Confusion

Published by dianae under General Edit This

So far things are going pretty good with the current guy. We still see each other 3-4 times a week and soon it’ll be a month since we first went out.

I think I may have actually found a nice guy…is it possible there are still some out there? :)

It’s nice to look forward to seeing someone and know that they actually look forward to seeing me too. I hate playing games in the first stages of dating, and many men seem to do that. Girls do too, but I don’t think as bad as some men do.

I mean, I’m 31 years old, have dated a lot, and at some point I’ve gotten really sick of games. If I like someone or they like me, then why is it so bad to just tell them? Or why do we have to wait a ‘certain amount of days’ before calling each other in the beginning. Who cares? If you like someone, do what you feel. If it scares them away, then they weren’t right for you anyways and it’d probably fail later on down the road.

Am I right?

Seatbelts and Milkshakes

Published by dianae under General Edit This

So, my sister and I were driving around the other day. She drove me around to show me some condos she was interested in looking at. It was the night before St. Patrick’s Day and we noticed two motorcycle cops pulling tons of people over. (We had driven down the road a few times to check these condos out).

So I decided that I wanted a peanut butter milkshake, and we stopped to get one in the drive-thru.

After she pulls out, we see these two motorcycle cops on the side of the road talking to each other. She passes them, and 10 seconds later says that she thinks we are getting pulled over.

For what?!? I wondered.

So we get stopped, and the officer informs us that her front headlight is out.

And he also mentions that I don’t have my passenger seatbelt on.

Great.

He ends up giving my sister a warning for her headlight, yet proceeds to write me a ticket for not having my seatbelt on. He said they were specifically out tonight on a grant to catch people not wearing their seatbelts.

Damn my sister for having a headlight that was out. But in her defense, she had no clue and was even paranoid driving me home for fear of getting stopped again.

So all in all, that put a damper on our evening and we just ended up going home early.

I have no idea how much a passenger seatbelt ticket is, and I’ve been calling for 2 days to find out, but they still don’t have my ticket on file yet.

The cop also told my sister that he could have given her a ticket too because I wasn’t wearing my seatbelt and that she’s responsible for everyone in her car.

*sigh*
